I hope nobody minds me posting this to the list, but I know there are several people here who are interested in this.
It seems that there is probably enough interest in this course to go ahead. What we need to do now is schedule a time for the course that suits everyone. I have started a thread on the OSTC forums at http://www.ostc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30. Anyone interested in attending should post a reply to the forum to let me know what times suit them. I am also happy for people to contact me offlist as well. Once we have a schedule, and if we still have at least 6 people attending, then I can go ahead and order the courseware. We will have to allow a couple of weeks for delivery, but then we are good to go. Please be aware that this is a 'trial' course. The trial is being run to find out: * If the teacher can effectively teach all of the curriculum * If the courseware is good enough * How many sessions are required to complete the course * If the computers are up to the task * See what the pass rate is for people who sit the exam. The cost of the Trial course will be $350. This price includes all the courseware. Also note that there are some prerequisites The students will need a good knowledge of computer hardware, and be comfortable using the command line. Most of the course is done from the command line. Students should also be prepared to put in some extra time outside the course times to make sure they understand everything that is taught. This course is NOT designed for people who want to learn how to use their home PC. It is designed for people who will be doing system administration in a business environment.
