I now have an nForce 2 chipset M/B and have had no major problems installing and running Redhat 9, Knoppix 3.2 (live cd) and most recently Gentoo 1.4. Chipset support is included in the latest kernels and distros. The only minor hassle I encountered was with the integrated nvidia NIC and RH9. I had to download and compile the nvidia driver (watch out it's non GPL and will taint your kernel - how awful for it eh :-)) Gentoo 1.4 installation was painless, all hardware was detected and operational from the live cd, including the nvidia NIC. Following a kernel build an emerge of ebuilds for nvidia-kernel, nforce-net and nforce-audio ensured this crap remained operational after reboot from the disk installation.
