I've got the same host listed in my /etc/apt/sources.list file as my first alternative. Only once, however, have I seen any particular speed boost. I'm normally around 17 kB/s. That one time, I saw around 350 kB/s. Nothing changed on my end, so I'm left wondering why I don't normally get that speed. Given that everyone seems to rave about that host, I'd guess that others are getting the higher transfer rates. I'd love to not have to wait for half an hour for a apt-get dist-upgrade.
