It depends if there's a fridge full of beer close by.
Seriously, I've worked for extended periods in a number of datacentres,
and it is important to have the room at a temperature suitable for
humans, otherwise they start to do strange things. At the same time,
though, it's even more important to cool your gear sufficiently--and
that will depend on what gear you have. For your bog-standard Intel
stuff, anywhere around 18-22 degress celcius should be fine. If you
have mainframe gear, you'll probably find they have fairly strict
recommendations on environmental conditions.
Two points: it's important that the temperature is steady in the room,
and that you are watching the humidity levels.
And, obviously, if this is serious stuff, check with an expert.
