What significant news could be possible with the gtran card? It's a drop in and go product...
The bandwidth is fairly good for the coverage you get (I get between 5 and 8KB/s) latency can be a pain (up to 200ms to stuff on the Telecom/Xtra network) and the data charges are not good for casual/personal use... In my experience they work under RH7.3 and 9, and I imagine any other current distro.. hotplug recognises it as a serial device, and sets it up as ttyS3, then treat it as a standard modem..
