There was a message posted about this to the DynDNS announcements
mailing list just a few days ago, but it doesn't seem to have reached
their website. See:

I'll copy the email for you below:

As explained in our announcements of the past two weeks, we have now
blocked all access to our update systems by any updater identifying itself
with the user-agent string of "ez-update-3.0.11b7 i686-pc-linux-gnu [] (by
Angus Mackay)". This user-agent is known to be used by the following
software and hardware products:
* Linksys WRT54G, prior to firmware version 1.42.3
* Netgear DG834 and DB834G, prior to firmware version 1.03.00
* Angus Mackay's ez-ipupdate client, in some configurations, version
3.0.11b7
* Some configurations of the IPCop Firewall
* Some configurations of the Smoothwall Firewall
This list is not exhaustive, these are only the products which we have
been made aware of that use this user-agent string. If you are using any
of these products, you need to update to the appropriate new version for
your product to again be able to update hostnames in our system.
It is unfortunate that we have had to take such drastic measures, but the
problems caused by the incorrectly configured Linksys WRT54G prior to
version 1.42.3 make this blocking, and the associated collateral damage,
necessary. For more details on these issues, please see our press release
at http://www.dyndns.org/news/releases/archives/2003/11/288.html. The
conclusions section of this release also contains links to the Linksys and
Netgear firmware download pages needed to update those routers. We are
working with the various parties involved in this situation to try to
avoid a recurrence in the future. We thank you for your patience and
understanding.
