hi, i successfully mounted my fat32 partition & altered my /etc/fstab file.

now i can access the partition, however i can't modify the permissions &
therefore can't read or write to the partition. i tried to follow the
instructions provided in this link, from robert:

In the kernel configuration menus, go to File Systems and enable:

Code:

..
<*> DOS FAT fs support
<*> MSDOS fs support ..
<*> VFAT (Windows-95) fs support ..
<*> NTFS file system support (read only) ..
****************** DID THIS, SAVED IT......

Compile also the Native Language Support (usually ISO 8859-1) in Native
Language Support. ******************* DO I REALLY NEED TO DO
THIS??*******************

Compile and install your new kernel and modules, reboot your computer and
you are ready for the next step. ******************** COMPILED KERNAL with:
/usr/src/linux-2.4 make bzImage
NOT SURE HOW TO INSTALL IT HOWEVER, CAN ANY1 HELP? - (NOTE: PLEASE BE
SPECIFIC, I'M ONLY A NEWBIE STUMBLING MY WAY THRU ALL OF THIS!
*******************

cheers, sam
