If you are the organiser of a seminar - conference - presentation in which speakers from all over the known universe will turn up with their laptops and keep participants waiting while they try to get their laptop and the data projector be nice to each other, be decisive. Insist the all speakers who will be giving presentations with Power Point email you their power point files in advance. You can then load them on to your own machine which you will have tested in advance and know it works. This means that those occasions where speakers can not get their lap tops to interface with data projector are not marathons of embarrassment. There is a back up solution immediately available.
