Thanks Carl for the reply... just found that adding a "flush $s_ptr" at the end does the job!!
Some servers will fail though, especially ones with anti-spam configurations, if you just send all the lines one after another without stopping to read the server's responses. Actually, the lines you're sending are not quite correct either.
Why not use the "smtp" package from Tcllib to do it properly?
