Well, I do, but I also know my networking :-) If you're not listening to the responses coming back from the SMTP server, your script won't be able to do even the most basic fault finding. Check out 'expect' instead - it's a TCL-based I/O processor, designed for "intractive" scripting just like yours. -jim
