Hello,I'm on their 256k plan and have had no problems, although there techs don't know how to set it up with linux :) The only problem I had on 2 occasions was the connection to any sites outside of NZ not working and that was for a bout 30mins only.
I have just had a door to door salesman from Telstra come over and put the hard sell on, and I am very tempted to get a broadband cable connection
hehe, halfway thru composing this message I did some reading thru the clug archive, found most of my answers ;) these old posts mention chch getting DOCSIS cable modems in the future... do we have them yet?
However I am curious to know other list members (that have Telstra cable) find the cable modem under linux... what kind of setup is needed (DHCP?) any pitfalls etc.
sorry if this sounds like Telstra helpdesk question, but I would like to know if this will work with linux before I make any commitments.

As long as you know the IP etc you'll be able to set it up fine, I have my connection connected 24/7 through a Smoothwall box (soon to change to MNF when I get the chance).
