Sorry, it's 'long gone'. Un-installing, using the option in the 'setup' script 
"removal of all files" still left a lot of OOo 1.0.0 stuff that I deleted 
manually. 
I suspect that may be where the problem arose. I tried looking at the various 
scripts that OOo has but they are duck soup to me. I've considered 
re-installing the OS but then I'll never know what happened.
Now I'm trying to get my aliases to work again. They work if I am 'root' but 
not 'user'. OOo was in my user directory.
