The advantage of the site is that it is available at full adsl speed to all
xtra customers, but it's not an 'official' mirror so it's not always
completely up to date. No rsync server.

http://linux.citylink.co.nz/gentoo

Similar to above, but they do offer an rsync server.
I don't think is either an official citylink service or an official Gentoo
mirror so it is rather haphazard.

ftp://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/

This is one of the main mirrors, and works well for me.

I use the default Gentoo round-robin system for rsync service, and the two
archive mirrors above followed by the default list for download. In my exp.
the mirrorselect system yields a very slow server in Aust.

That all depends on what your client wants.
Gentoo is a proper pain to set up, in fact it's currently impossible to
install it if you don't have a 'Net connection, but once you have a working
system it's a dream to use and administer. ATM they are suffering from
'growing pains' to some extent.

NB. This PC runs Linux. If you find a virus apparently from me,
it has forged the e-mail headers on someone else's machine.
Please do not notify me when this occurs. Thanks.
