Don - Some of us are using Mepis to install a pretty up to date (testing/unstable) Debian for desk top use, I for one have found it to be very good, the mirrors all work fine and very easy to configure.
It installs very quickly from a live CD, with a 2nd CD of extra app's - based on Knoppix, but better than the original in my opinion. It might be worth a look since you are familiar with Debian any way. ciao Lance Blackler -----Original Message----- From: Christopher Sawtell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tue, 06 Apr 2004 13:11:38 +1200 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Gentoo Files... That may be the claim, but there were 3 people in the #gentoo irc channel yesterday, who could not install successfully from the CDs only, and it corresponds with my experience only last week. btw, please don't put message info below the '--' in a message.
