Thanks for your efforts Christipher, The dos based system that I've been asked to look at was written in reverlation.
At first glance it looks like no one's ever done any reindexing (hummm.... 'buy faster hardware'). I've gained agreement to get linux into the business... Now I'm just planning/researching what I might recommend next. Have you used either of these to products? Do you happen to know if there are any accountants in NZ supporting them? Do you happen to know if data can be exported to myob? (not that I'm an myob fan either, but it does seem to dominate the nz market and is used by the client).
