Hi All, I now have 2 Linux boxes installed and a very interested client.
I'm going to document the sites as reference sites and look at writing up some case study stuff. The West Coast site ended up being wifi'ed as well. Both locations have retail shops. West Coast also has a manufacturing factory. Questions: 1. Language The shop in Queenstown has staff who are Japanese and Korean (sp wrong sorry). KDE gives you the option of having 4 (or more) desktops. At present one of the machines is set up with windows 98 in Japanese (which I can't read). Can KDE be configured with different desktops in different languages? I.e.: I want to be able to click between different desktops, English, Japanese, etc. 2. VPN I've done some playing about with pptp vpn so far but found it complex to make work. Have any of you actually got IPSec running? I would like to look at an actual running set of configuration files if possible. I've looked at IPCop and got completely confused about what numbers I should put in where. I want to end up with a VPN cloud that connects the two sites and that other net users (staff from home and me) can connect into as required. I also want WINS to work so I can map drives and printers across the network and would like to talk to anyone who's had experience doing this (again, please don't just refer me to a web site that 'should' have the answers I need to know). 3. WIFI network. The customer is also very interested to be part of setting up some public wifi networking at both locations. Anyone with similar interest in Queenstown or Hokatika (sp?) please let me know. Cheers Don
