I vote for thrashing the question out in the list to start with.

1. Pilot Projects are always good!

I think what ever is done should be done as a pilot to start with.

It should be started here in Christchurch.

Yes, other centers would then complain.... I would be expecting and hoping
for that. It's called "Creating Demand" :)

2. What to teach?

First up I think some basic exams should be written to identify the current
level of competance. These should be certified by DSE and the OSS community
in some ways.

Once we've identified what people know then we can identify what to teach,
the best methods to teach and what resources need to be provided to best
deliver this training.

Finally some follow up needs to be planned to assess outcomes.

3. How to market

Marketing of the whole project needs to be considered for a bunch of obvious
and not so obvious reasons.

Yes, some of this may seem like nothing more than waffle to some of you.

I suggest that thrashing something out here on list would give Chris enough
ammo to take to his management to get the ball rolling to actually hire
someone to consolidate the information and put together a project.

Thoughts anyone?

Cheers Don
