Spent about a year working with OS7.1-5... not much fun as everyone was getting to play with OS9 or 10 on much faster machines. I like mac stuff but my mission is to get into this linux stuff, work out how to make it productive and push oss along. Add to that, I don't have a mac and can't see myself affording one for awhile... not sure what I'd do with it anyway. Windows does anything I want to be able to do execpt networking which is just to expensive to do what I'd like to be able to do so enter linux (because a bunch of people told me it was the way to go)... Sense getting into linux I've come to see value in the whole gnu idea... Wouldn't buying into the Mac world just be as bad? Sure Mac's don't have the 22% of the market that they had in 1987 (Compaus Hobby report) but they are just as closed as Microsoft aren't they? Given the problems in cyberspace these days I agree that we need open systems. Cheers Don
