Xandros.. -M$ commercial dynamic. This is important, it is why we have "Linux", and it is best targetted, imho, by acknowledging the GNU/Linux flag. GNU/Linux offers the best roadmap to developing both the programmers and the software essential to a *free* future.

Does it really matter what we call it? Does anybody current call the new HP/Compaq company "HP/Compaq"?
Let's face it, GNU as it stands isn't an exciting name - Linux is. It just happens to have worked out that way with media attention, etc. There is already so much confusion about what exactly FLOSS is, that a simple name change will not clear it up, anybody who actually is interested in FLOSS needs to do some careful reading to get it. GNU/Linux is unweildy - do you call your computer a GNU/Linux/x86 computer? A Windows/Intel computer? What happens if you are using GNU tools on windows or MacOS - GNU/Windows? GNU/MacOS?

The GNU/Linux misnomer comes (AFAIK) from RMS feeling like he's not getting enough credit - well, if he wanted credit he should have put it in the license.
