at the time ipcop forked from smoothwall neither was based on LFS. That came later. Whether the later change to LFS was initiated by Smoothwall then copied by IPCOP is unknown to me, but not beyond the bounds of possibilty. I guess if smoothwall want to use and produce GPL software its up for grabs. Actually the LFS make scripts used by IPCOP are derived from lfsmake, a system for automating LFS production that was developed separate from either IPCOP or smoothwall.
