Server :-

IBM Netfinity model 5500 (4RU)
Twin PIII 600 Cartridge CPUs
768 MB SDRam (as far as I can make out)
Triple SCSI Drives (9.1 GB) in a Raid 5 arrangement
ServerRaid2 Raid Controller

OS :-

RedHat 9, server insall

Problem :-

IBM's ServerRaid controller might...have been upgraded, RedHat is having a
Hell of a time using it, preferring to let me know that 18 times a second,
it's resetting controller IPS0. This happens during a boot, where seconds
before it goes insane, it tells me that the BIOS of the RAID controller
SHOULD be AS500, but it's MP418, and something terrible has happened...

Presented Solutions :-

Someone told me to scrap RH9 in favour of Fedora, as the older RH series
didnt play nice with IBM gear anyway, and Fedora DOES... I've also been
told to give FreeBSD a whirl. I *have* FreeBSD here, and will try that
pending solutions from CLUGBOCLLGAF<insert remaining alphabet here>

Question :-

Anyone else can see something obvious, or knows why the IBM isnt being
friendly to the RH install?
