Newbe Suse internet sharing Question?

I am useing Suse 9.1 on two PCs , One conected to the internet by dial 
up modem the other is waiting in the wings for me to share its 
connection. All the lan hardware is OK as i have had both previously 
connected and working with XP & Mandrake. I have tryed static addresses 
and got them to ping each other but no internet. Cant get dhcp to work 
either.
Please can someone give me a step by step(easy) way to do this. i dont 
no anything about networks and get overwhemed when i try to follow and 
learn the theory.
