Hi (Hope this is not to OT or on the darkside :-D )
I am having problems with my floppy disk drive.
In windows 98 trying to use rawwritewin and rawrite to write boot disks(ipcop) the following errors comes up
In the windows version wfter pressing the write button
Error writing to disk
followed by
Image was not succesfully written
The dos version outputs the following
H:\dosutils>rawrite RaWrite 1.2 - Write disk file to raw floppy diskette
Enter source file name: boot-1~1.img Enter destination drive: a Please insert a formatted diskette into drive A: and press -ENTER- : Can't figure out how many sectors/track for this diskette.
H:\dosutils>
After all that I just tried to format a floppy disk
C:\WINDOWS>format a: Insert new diskette for drive A: and press ENTER when ready...
Checking existing disk format. Formatting 1.44M Format complete. Unable to write BOOT. Format terminated. Format another (Y/N)?
Other miscleaneous info
Tried all the above with various ages of floppy disks (ranging from one year old to brought tonight) about 20 - 30 disks in total
Tried above on two different computers (both netwroked together and running win98)
Neither computer appears to want to boot from floppy (had to dissable it in one)
So does any one know(or have some idea) what my problem could be and how to fix it?
OR does any one know how to install ipcop with out a boot disk (cd rom or floppy)?
Any help would be most appreciated
