Well, I don't use Dial up or USB on mine. I can say that using NICs has
been working fine for me. I really am not using all the features, but would
say that if you were looking to replace a cheap store bought wired router,
it works fine. I don't think there are many show stoppers left to squash.
The dev list reported issues of 1.3 to 1.4 VPN, I don't know if those have
been resolved. I would look at the bug list on the sourceforge page and see
if anything would affect your implementation. I like the new interface and
the new features. If you don't use add ons to 1.3, and just use R-G or
R-O-G, go for it! It is a small ISO, so download it and run it on a test
box. I would not recommend it for commercial application yet because the
updates required detection is not activated yet, and it is still listed as
beta. The new features may make it a fit for your needs, and most software
is beta even when released. We all know about patches for bugs, so what
does beta really mean? To me, it means support. IPCop already has support
for the betas from the lists and forums, so go for it.
The whole GUI has been redone, and there are tons of new admin features,
for backup, snort, timesync, dhcp, etc. The list goes on and on. Check it
out as it would take ages to list.

IPCop 1.4.0 beta 5 is now up on SF.net for download
(http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ipcop/).

Please keep reporting bugs via our sourceforge.net bugs section and
for those who have reported bugs, please try this version and update
your bug report.
