I too am running 6106 with no problems but I do recall seeing some comments
on the Gentoo forums about some problems. I think it may have been fixed
with later kernels (Gentoo-dev-sources are now up to 2.6.7-r10)

I run a Geforce4200Go in my laptop, with latest 6106 nVidia drivers and 
2.6.7.  No visual glitches, the only thing that has stopped working is 
the Tv out - but I haven't yet looked into it enough to be worried.
