Hello,   I am wondering whether anybody can help.   Is there a way to set my Linux up so that when it is booting it does not come in verbose mode.   Also when I turn it off, I do not have to sit behind it to turn the power switch off before the computer shuts down. In windows, I don't have to wait for the computer to turn off and shut it down as it does all this for me.   I thought it did shut down yesterday during the install but I cannot remember.   Thanks heaps   Osei
