yes there is. You have to have either the apm or acpi system daemon active.

We are having a after install-fest fix-ups evening on the 22 july, 
that's the very next Thursday at 7:30 pm. The meeting is at the Sydenham 
Community Hall in Hutchison Street Sydenham. I am certain that there will 
somebody at the meeting who will be able to help you.
