I've had similar problems to those Nick described under Fedora 2. I 
know that if you switched off the antialiasing, then they came right.
Sorry, that *Carl* describes... and I haven't touched a drop yet, due to 
driving back from Jade ( now that's what I call a finish! )

The sad bit is that I can't for the life of me remember how I did 
this! Hopefully someone who kills less braincells on a regular basis 
than me can follow up on this one (:
