One thing I forgot to mention is the consideration of applications.
In the (primary) schools I've seen, the teachers don't use "the computers" for a lesson, they use "this software package". Stuff like Reader Rabbit, Magic School Bus and so on. Stuff that the WINE project have said they'd love to support 100%, but don't.
This would be a very important issue to address :-) otherwise you're going to have to "reeducate" the teachers, and change their lesson plans, and they'll be very resistant to that.
