Notice for any potential Linux adopters reading list posts, or needing to be informed:

Thursday week, 7.30pm at the Sydenham Community Association Hall, 25 Hutcheson Street, there will be a meeting at which Volker Kuhlmann will demonstrate innovative features of the Novell SuSE Linux distribution. This is also an opportunity to have SuSE Linux installed on your computer, with help on hand.

If you missed CLUG's recent Installfest, or have struggled unsuccessfully with Mandrake or any other distribution, this is a good chance to try SuSE. It is very simple to use.

To book your machine into this event, please attach a reply to this post, with your PC system specifications in detail. If there are no registrants, we will be altering the meeting format to include another speaker.

Should anyone needing assistance with free and open-source software installation not be able to attend Thursday 28 August, on the following Saturday there is also Software Freedom Day <http://www.softwarefreedomday.org>, for the same purpose: http://www.infohelp.co.nz/sfd0.html

Kia ora,

Rik
