Sounds good & fair to me, though I doubt a high proportion of installees will have DVD drives.

Volker is collating the installee requests & preparing for them as he has suggested. A smooth, bulk network install will make an interesting workshop for everyone to see.

(I'd have recommended making 9.1 Personal the simple default, installing one-on-one by CD, unless people requested full kits.)

Ok?

Personal works really well, (tested on P2 vintage machines) - 1 CD.

There are 5-disk Pro sets kicking about too. This also installs & updates smoothly, out of the box.

Even better, there are 2 Pro DVDs (one of them the source code). There's more software on DVD1 than fits on 5 CDs, plus it's faster to install - apart from not having to disk jockey, a dvdrom reads DVDs faster than a cdrom reads CDs. All 9.1. On the day we should install from hard disk.

Happy to see you organise this Volker. Let us know any assistance you need.

I was thinking to offer duplicating media, for a reasonable fee though
if that's acceptable. Anyone wishing to take the media away from the
evening needs to tell me at least 1-2 days beforehand, or else I can
mail them out afterwards. Or have other arrangements for supplying
media already been made?

No, they hadn't as yet. I would have burnt any late CD requests on the spot. We'll work around you though.

Volker
