I can recommend the HP compaq nx9010 and nx7010. I've installed Mandrake
10 Official on a number of them in the physics department and they go
quite well. Though they do need a bit of configuring to get things like
modems running etc. I think I even did a Toshiba as well, but can't
remember the model.
