Again thanks for the responses!
Try rhythmbox [iTunes clone] or muine [new C# app, with focus on usability] for music players - they're both pretty excellent! ;)
I'm running KDE as a desktop, so rhythmbox wont work (is this correct?)
...Totem Movie Player which comes with KDE3.2.. seems to work... but is not the best..
XMMS seems kind of flakey!
However grip is awesome for ripping, and k3b is awesome for burning!
