All desktop applications can run alongside each other, as they use the
same basic system to draw on the screen. For example when I am testing
Web pages often have Mozilla (a GTK+ application), Opera, Konqueror
(both QT+ applications), and rdesktop (a strait X11 application) running
at the same time! You should be able to run rhythmbox without any
problems under KDE.
