yep, purely to explore, experiment, compare, fiddle, break/fix, clock up to
experience.  all the above and more ;-)

sort of like: i know mozilla works fine as a browser/mail client, it ain't
broke.  but i might like to try firefox and thunderbird.

why? what you have works doesn't it? if it ain't broke don't f**k wth it!

of course if it is a matter of "intellectual challenge" [1] then go
ahead, it may just work, it may mean you need to fix ktinternet again
afterwards, i wouldn't have a clue.
