There is PCU and Computer Future, both Washington Way. This may not be current, but PCU can't spell Linux, Computer Future only when the weather is good.
I got my current computer from Computer Future just over a year ago. When I told them I wanted to run Linux, the sales guy was aware of the modem issue and recommended an external modem. They also formatted the WinXP partition as FAT32 instead of NTFS, which was very thoughtful - I hadn't asked for this. They will do OSless machines as well.
Actually, if I had had my way, there wouldn't have been a WinXP partition and I could have spent that $200 on better hardware.
BUT, they didn't have a keyboard with the correct Enter|BackSpace|\ key arrangement. I'm still using the keyboard from my el-cheapo 1994 vintage 486 computer. Hey! I've been using Linux as my primary OS just over 10 years now. How time flies.
No other interest/connection to Computer Future, BTW.
Cheers, Carl.
