Replying to only one is fine; the reason that you often end up with
multiple people asking the same question is that we're all replying to
a message in parallel, so haven't yet seen each other's responses.

Nope, but it's handy to know you what other network devices you've got
configured, as it aids troubleshooting problems like Chris suggested
(default route not replaced by pppd due to existing network
configuration).

How is the eth0 device configured? Manually, or using DHCP? DHCP will,
by default, overwrite your /etc/resolv.conf with the values it receives
from the DHCP server. This isn't happening in your case, but it's worth
noting as a possible issue for users with similar configurations.

Please check the following things and let the list know:
- Right click on KInternet and select 'Settings->View configuration'.
- Look for the options 'auto-dns' and 'modify-dns'. These should both
  be set to 'yes'.
- If either of these settings are wrong, select 'Settings->Configure
with YaST2' after right-clicking on KInternet, select 'Modem', select
your Internet provider, click 'Edit', then 'Next', make sure that
'Modify DNS when Connected' and 'Automatically Retrieve DNS' are both
checked on the 'Connection Parameters' screen, then 'Next', 'Finish'
and try your dial up stuff again..

Cheers,
