Dunno what connection adsl has to yobbo, perhaps it is just a
co-incidence they are using similar protocols.

Sounded like that was the case. So here's one for Jim:
*Setting Up "PPPop"
*To setup your timer/logon program (PPop is a logon program & a timer that displays how much time you spent on the internet)

what is the equipment. I have plenty of 802 11b gear including cards
suitable for external aerials.

You could be ok then - 2.4 GigaHertz?

yeah well there are many different cards there! but I take it from
looking there that its probably some form of 802.11a/b/g, as that seems
to be their main wireless thrust on wisp-router.com. Which takes more
configuration in linux than just setting an IP address. For a start you
need a compatible card, and often as not compile a driver for your
kernel yada yada. winmodem'ish, but if you get a compatible card its
fine. So I am officially confused. I might talk to them again, I did a
year or so ago.

*"Supports [Win... &] Linux(MikroTik & Star-OS)" sounds ok, but obscure?
e.g. *100mW 802.11b Prism 2.5 PCCard with Dual Antenna Ports <http://www.wisp-router.com/product_info.php?products_id=335>

I have to enquire further re which one it is..

Awaiting their reply..
