as i do not have mandrake handy i cannot say. however i _believe_ it is a compressed plain text file.
i'm pretty sure mc will view it, press f3e, or try unzipping it with gunzip or unzip. it gets to be quite large and is designed to be downloaded pretty quickly, hence the compression.
