Not really, it was taken with a ";)" and caused a chuckle...

I don't think you're quite fair here in your comparison.

Mac:
        * When it leaves the shop, or more to the point, when it reaches
$PARENTS, it's all preconfigured and ready.
        * It won't run the various games and educational cdroms on the
        market.
        * $PARENTS wouldn't be able to install any software regardless
of how often you told them how easy it would be.
        * For connection to an ISP, "just insert this CD and click a few
buttons", ooops, sorry, not for Macs.

Linux:

        * When it reaches $PARENTS, it's all preconfigured and ready.
        * It won't run the various games and educational cdroms on the
        market.
        * $PARENTS wouldn't be able to install any software regardless
of how often you told them how easy it would be.
        * For connection to an ISP, "just insert this CD and click a few
        buttons" -- WAIT A MINUTE.
          a) Selecting the respective NZ ISP in yast is a minimum setup
task you could talk anyone through over the phone. (Obviously
you installed the ISP details before the box reaches
          $PARENTS.)
          b) If you liked your $PARENTS, you would *NOT* give them a box
with features along the lines of "just insert this CD and
everything on it installs just by itself".

Mickeysquish:

        * No matter how often the FUD is repeated, $PARENTS wouldn't be
able to install any software regardless of how often everyone
says how easy it would be. Although it's easy to insert a CD and
click the start button, getting something like office to work
surely is asking to much of $PARENTS. Wanna bet?

For the first two in the list, I don't see a lot of difference.
