I advised a friend that if he gets a losemodem, to make it a lucent one. So he did:
YAST thinks it is an Agere systems LT winmodem modem0 The chip proclaims it is Agere as well 00:09.0 Communication controller Agere systems (former Lucent) LT winmodem (rev 02) 0000:00:09.0 class 0780:11c1:044c (rev 02) The driver loads but is non-functional, opening /dev/modem fails. Googling on the PCI numbers gives more problems of the same, but no solution. Does anyone have a trick or two up their sleeve??
