Oh, I've been a fan of Postgres for a long time, but I've never had a project that could really use it. I could make one up, as a learning exercise, but I'd rather expend effort on something I was going to use. Storing weather data is trivial enough that it will be a good starter project, but I'm also very keen on PostGIS which is a big bite to chew. Andy
