I suggest you uninstall the project first and then rebuild it from:-
./configure --prefix=/usr ; make

You need to have the docbook formatting system installed.
Docbook can then be translated into whatever format you want, but I assure you 
that the Reading Police won't come after you if you use 'less' in an 
emergency.

I have just installed it using the prefix=/usr configureation flag and it seem 
to go fine. i.e. starts up, lets me read the help system, and doesn't crash 
on pressing button 3.
