Points to consider.
Internet over POTS lines, TV Cable, and ADSL are all kludges, but the Cable 
one seems to go quite a bit better than the all the others.

Xtra is largely owned by Microsoft who paid Telecom $300 million for it.

The service offered by TelstraClear is head and shoulders better than Xtra. 
Xtra's. E-mail failed every w/e when I was with them, but TelstraClear's has 
gone slow only once. ( This last w/e )

The voices at the end of the T/C support lines appear to belong to happy well 
spoken people, whereas those on the Telecom / Xtra appear to belong to a 
bunch of surly mumblers.
 
As far as where I send the profit margin, I'd much prefer to support our 
Australian cousins than the world's bully boys.
