More seriously, the voice recognition offered on OS/2 by the IBM VoiceType and 
ViaVoice products was quite remarkable, particularly if you used the program 
most suited to your pronunciation. Unfortunately the Kiwi accent does not 
work very well with the standard USA version. I used Voice Type quite a lot 
and could produce a page virtually free of errors. Like only one or two at 
the most.

It was debatable whether it was faster than typing, but for somebody who could 
not type because of some disability it would have been a God-send.

It's the one product from those days that I actually miss in spite of looking 
a total dork telling my computer "Jump to emacs", and then dictating.
