Many (of the more intelligent) people think the same way over their government and laws in Germany. Nz is not so bureaucratic as Europe and the DOC and Enviroment Canterbury also seem to be doing a good job. Just an example: In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (in the northern part of Germany) they have to make laws about Seilbahnen (Something only used in the mountains) although Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is so flat that they don't and never will have any of these things and that only because of the European government.Welcome to the quasi-monopolistic country we call New Zealand - where the government lacks the spine to do anything at all that might anger the company who (in theory) they gather the most tax from. Australia is looking better and better to me all the time at the moment (the USA actually would be my prefernce but trying to get into there is next to impossible!).
Excuse the venting but I am getting well and truely fed up with this country and the lack of brain-power in our Government.
The moral is: Everybody dislikes his own government because he can see their faults most easily.

Democracy is a government where you can say what you think even if you don't think.
