IMHO, if you're going to learn a 3GL, then any one ( as long as it's
structured ) is fine... maybe even Fortran ( which is what I learnt on 30
years ago! ). The most important thing is that the teacher is totally
familiar with it, and able to teach both the syntax and good programming
practices.
