Chris,
thanks for the update on MUA.

 I have considered upgrading.
Pine does several things very very very well.

it a) works fine on a console
    b) keeps a copy of every outgoing message in that person's folder.
Consequently, I have a copy of every message I have sent to someone
       in my addressbook.
    c) works fine on low bandwidth links.
    d) supports IMAP really well.
In a recent test, I could open an IMAP folder containing 60000
messags in under 2 seconds. None of my colleagues came close. 40
       seconds was typical.
    e) Is a free open source client.

I have not been shown a better client. (you can take that as a challenge
to find a better one).

Consequently:

False. Pine is suitable.

Searches on the internet for comments on email etiquette do mention 60-80
characters in a line.

Derek.
