right, that part is the most annoying of all.
receiving a huge email with a few lines of reply.
and then having to search if there might be more reply in the email
somewhere.

so please trim your quotes.
the quote is part of your email.
take the effort to make it readable.

a full quote of the email should never be necessary.
if we are already following the thread then by all likelyhood we have
already read the quoted email. chances are we still have it and can look
it up.

if someone reads the archive, the quoted email can also be looked up.
hence there is no quoting needed.

someone jumping into the thread needs to read the whole quoted email and
search the relevant info. trimmed quotes would be good here.

on another list i am on, we have the (unwritten) rule:
we do not quote at all!
unless we are replying to a very specific part of a message, and we want
to indicate exactly which part we are replying to, then we quote the
part we reply to. in all other cases, there is no quote.
