Both images of 2004.3 on a hard drive.
The packages are compiled for a P/III.

Gentoo is suitable for anybody who can read and understand quite complex
technical computer information written in American English, and then put it
to use. Note that's not a snide swipe at Americans, because the Gentoo Install
manual is actually very good, but it's a statement that they use a somewhat
different 'turn of phrase', which can often be confusing.

It's well worth printing them out. All of them.

Then please consider very carefully what you are proposing to do.
Gentoo stable is just that, and once you have it installed it will go and go,
but if you want to install or update anything of any consequence later you
will be in for a fair sized download, e.g. KDE is ~100Megs of source code.
New kernels are about 35 - 40 megs. ( btw, the combo of linux-2.6.11 and
xorg-6.8.2 is a real joy )

However one of the points of the GentooFest is to be able to share source code
files around. You have got an ethernet network interface card setup haven't
you?

I could bring the 2004.3 CDs to the meeting next Tuesday.
You replace my stock of blanks.
